| Notes |
There has been a lot of notice in Europe recently over this treatment,
released by L'Oreal/Vichy labs. It is supposed to have some strong science indicating it
works. In a placebo controlled trial with 130 men, daily use of Aminexil after 6 weeks
increased hair in the growing phase by 8% by men taking aminexil. Men in the placebo
controlled group decreased hair in the growing phase. In a clinical trial with 160 women,
over 66% of women experienced decrease of hair loss and over 80% experienced stronger,
thicker hair. According to the makers, "Our research has led to the discovery that,
whatever its origin, hair loss is linked to the accelerated ageing of the roots,
characterised by fibrosis. The fibrosis causes the roots to become rigid and
compresses the blood vessels that nourish and stimulate them. The roots weaken and hair
falls out prematurely. Aminexil, a patented anti-fibrosis molecule, acts
on the accelerated ageing of the roots by combatting the process of fibrosis. Aminexil
preserves the vital functions of the roots and helps to reduce hair loss. |
